Yeah I love the winter coming!
Yeah I love the winter coming!
Yeah ohhhh winter winter!
Snow on the roof!
Ice on the pavement!
Yeah I love the winter coming!
It's a song I made up to the tune of a different song I haven't made up yet. More details to come. Anyways I was excited about winter so you get a little ditty. But now I have lots of news to share!
So I spent yesterday and Tuesday night in DC because my cousin finally had that baby-cousin-thing that I was telling you about! It was a wonderful experience to hold the newborn in my arms, and I'm pleased to say that both mom and baby are happy and healthy!
I mentioned a while ago that I went on this trip to Pittsburgh to help set up an installation for a professor, and I finally have proof of the trip!! You can check out the short documentary thing I made with my friend Sam here. The idea of the installment was that users could make a mobile on the screen using hand gestures in front of a Kinect. Also the screen was actually three projectors shooting out onto the wall of an adjacent building. It was a lot of fun and I got to do a bit of avant-garde dancing to try to get the Kinect to work.

Also, my thesis is now officially *~UnDeR ReViEw~* by the board of Visual Arts Faculty. It sounds scarier than it is, I think. A panel of professors basically look over the binder of what matters in my life and then they tell me if it's worth the effort I've put into it so far. I'm hoping once this (finally) goes through the department heads I will be able to make some progress as far as making connections goes. Right now I have my eye on this department to try to get the ball rolling on getting some of the "real research" to back up my progress so far. So at the moment I don't have any huge updates on my thesis other than people I've never met are deciding if it's worth anything right now.
In other other news, my programming teacher introduced us to Objective C today and it was terrifying. The second half of this semester may in fact involve more last-minute panic than the first. But boy do I hope not. If you're wondering what happened to that Three Sights project, it got demoted to back-burner because I ran out of time and had to get it functioning instead of pretty and now I don't wanna show it off until I color everything.
